In reply to Jessie. Hi Jessie, No, the faux wood won't take the wax as it doesn't have any tooth to absorb it. On the back of the peninsula, I planked it with strips of luan/ plywood, and then painted it. I'm getting ready to do another island back in trim at the Cliffhanger house that I'm doing now, so be sure to check back to see how I did it!

Hey there! First of all I LOVE what you did with your cabinets. The whole kitchen looks gorgeous. I was curious how you did the sides of the cabinet and the cabinet bases. Our cabinet doors are real wood but the bases are that faux wood. Not sure I could use the wax on them. What are your thoughts?

Hi Danna,
I love that color too! It’s Olympus White by Sherwin Williams… it says white but it’s actually a very pale grey.
