It’s here! One of my favorite parts of flipping… being able to walk through the house when it’s all done and ready for its first potential buyers.
Others may have thought we were crazy to get this one, but I am so happy with the results.
This poor little house just needed some love outside. Cleaning, greenery and fresh paint do wonders. The front door and shutters are now painted in Sherwin Williams Uncertain Gray, and the window boxes bring literal life to the front porch.
When entering the front door, you are welcomed by lots of natural light from the new front door going all the way through to the large back room. This room needed a good cleaning, fresh paint and new flooring. We also added in a ceiling light.

The kitchen had a great footprint with a bit of a cruddy layout. The range pushed right into the perpendicular sink cabinet run, giving little room when cooking. To fix this, I added in an another base cabinet and moved the range down towards the garage door. The peninsula moved towards the dining room to 1. create a spot for a dishwasher, and 2. give a little more room between the peninsula and fridge. Lastly, on the fridge wall, we added in a much needed pantry cabinet.
We pulled the upper cabinet layout away from the window and removed the valence to allow for more light and the backsplash tile to go all the way to the ceiling. We also removed the soffit and used taller wall cabinets. By the range, we eliminated the over-range cabinet and vent fan in favor of a slide in range with an open stainless steel vent and backsplash tile to the ceiling.
The kitchen is the room on which I personally spent the most time. I custom stained and finished all of the lower cabinets, painted the fridge area cabinets in Sherwin Williams Mineral Deposit, and made the plate racks. I finished the top with simple shaker white cabinets and added champagne bronze pulls all around to melt into the wooden base cabinets and provide a nice contrast against the painted cabinets. The countertops are a warm white simple quartz.

This room was so dark and blah when we first started. The wood paneling and dark curtains made everything feel gloomy, but the fact that the floor was caving in and you couldn’t walk through the room almost put a nail in its coffin. We decided to go ahead and save the room rather than tearing it down. The upgraded HVAC system also allowed us to tie this room in and remove the baseboard heat and window units. The light, space and function this room adds to this house is game-changing.
To improve the overall function of the house, we actually made this room smaller. To see what we did, check out this post here. It still feels very roomy though, with plenty of floor room remaining to add in a linen cabinet or other pieces the new owners may desire.
It feels bright, clean and fresh in here. And I love the combination of these cute rattan pulls with the curved wood mirror.

Granted, no exciting changes in the hall, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t share this cute light by Linea di Liara in Antique Brass. In an area like this, I love adding a fixture which gives personality to the light it emits. Here, the handblown glass look of the shade brings a bit of interest to an otherwise mundane space.
Although the primary bedroom didn’t change much, its bathroom sure did. Pictures can’t do justice to the cramped nature of the space before. For the door to swing open, only a small vanity could fit. It just felt awkward. By adding just 12″ to the space (taken from the hall bath and a closet), this is now a fully functional and relaxing bath. Access to the sink, toilet and shower are all much easier now. The fully-tiled bath, marble-topped vanity and marble-look porcelain floors create a classic look. Both the vanity top and the floors have gold and silver veining, bringing a bit of warmth to the space.
