Happy Friday! I’m so ready for a longer weekend with some good weather so we can enjoy the outdoors!
I wanted to give you a quick update on the flip house, or the skinny house as I’m calling it…. after all, it is skinny!
We are at that point where we are pretty much done tearing out and we are ready to start putting back together. All of the personal items have been removed, as well as the carpet, bathrooms, and other flooring. It’s also been cleaned (yay!). Painters are coming early next week. There isn’t a ton of progress to show, but here is a glimpse.
Work hasn’t just been going on inside, but I’ve been busy pulling together all of the materials. I’ve been to Lowe’s every day this week, and most days I went multiple times. This is much to the chagrin of my 4 year-old. I’m always in a toss up as to whether to warn her before we go (which makes it hard to get out the door), or just pull into the parking lot and let her figure it out herself. The latter leads to a mini meltdown in the car. A strategic and perfectly balanced mix of bribery and more fun activities has gotten us through. I woke up and thought this morning, perhaps for the first time ever, that I’m so happy I don’t have to go to Lowe’s today!
We had other fun this week too: huge ruts in the yard from the delivery of deck materials, busted concrete bags on the driveway, using a neighbor’s hose to fill cleaning buckets because shower valves hadn’t been turned off and water was leaking through the ceiling. This, my friends, is the glamorous side of flipping 😉
Have a great long weekend. And on a much more important note, thank you to all service men and women, and your families, for your sacrifice and service to our country.
