I know it’s been a few weeks since my last update, but things are starting to get exciting! The cabinets were delivered and I got to work getting them assembled. Say what you will about IKEA stuff, but one thing they really have down is the assembly process. The slight imperfections of other RTA pieces really stick out when you are used to IKEA. BUT, they are together! I’m happy with the color as they are different than many other in stock cabinets. The gray has an almost slate blue look to it, which is what I was hoping for.
AND… the cabinets are in! I have to admit, I was nervous pulling these cabinets into the house and worrying the kitchen was going to feel too cramped. But I was pleasantly surprised! It feels like a nice, solid kitchen.
If you don’t remember, it looked like this when we walked in the first time. The wall and fridge were angled so the fridge could fit. And there was no spot for a dishwasher and no pantry.
Now we have a straight spot for the fridge, room for a dishwasher next to the sink, and a pantry cabinet. It’s the little kitchen that could!
I think I’m set with picking out the lights. Next week, I’ll work on the kitchen cabinet hardware and finalizing the backsplash.
Happy Saturday!
