Yeah, the garage is still a work in progress. And progress has a whole new meaning to me!! I remember when the siding started, I thought it would take a few days, maybe a week. Boy was I clueless. My contractor (Johnny) takes his time but tries to do it right, so I really can’t complain right?
There was a time in this process where I thought we could have had this baby done by the 4th of July. And then once we hired Johnny, I was thinking there was a chance it could be mostly done by Labor Day. And then Johnny said he hoped to have it done by his trip to Vegas (2nd week of October). Now I’m questioning whether it will be finished by spring! I say all this not with annoyed frustration
but more with a shrug of the shoulders. Were my contractor not showing up, I would be annoyed. But the truth is he’s slow and steady. And I’m fine with that. He actually was kind enough to take care of our dog Ben, who LOVES Johnny and his son, and my very old cat Lucky while we were in Disney. Ben has no idea how narrowly he escaped the kennel. He knows every morning when Johnny or his son arrives, and stands by the door whining til he can get out to them. He will be one sad pup when Johnny stops coming around.
I am getting antsy to get everything cleaned up out there. I also did a little wood working in the garage today and it made me really antsy to get into my workshop! Maybe by summer? 😉
