Flippin’ Friday: Coming Together

Happy Friday folks! Somehow it is November, and I’m feeling the crunch. In addition to all of the Christmas activities, this time of year also brings my two girls’ birthdays. We have two exciting weddings to attend and my parents’ 50th anniversary to celebrate! These are all wonderful things; I’m feeling super blessed. But nonetheless, I’m feeling some pressure!

Not the least of my blessings comes in the form of friends from near and far who I may not see as often as I’d like, but when we do get together we pick right back up again. When starting college, I wanted to have a single room, but I changed my mind and decided to enter the lottery for a random roommate. One of my best friends from high school decided to do the same. The four of us became fast friends. And here we are, 22 years later!

We were all lucky enough to spend a week together last summer, and that was when I realized that not only did we owe it to ourselves to get together more, we owed it to our kids. Though they hadn’t seen each other in over a year, they also fell right back in to their friendships. It’s pure magic to witness.

After an awesome weekend in the mountains, I headed home ready to dig in and get some of these flip projects finished. But then a nasty virus hit the house. I was on house arrest for a good 6 days, and just as the kids got back to school, a few migraines hit. But we’re still moving on!

The result of 2 straight days in bed…

Oh right, the flip house…

The biggest change since the last update are the floors! I’m really happy with how they’ve turned out. The color really warms the downstairs, and I like the appearance of the thinner planks and the classic coloring.

The bathrooms are starting to come together with small things like mirrors, lights, and vanities. The master shower is framed and ready for tile. Doors and door knobs are going up, and I’m trying to finish trimming out the island.

The laundry room cabinet doors are also back up!

Have a wonderful weekend, and thanks for checking in!
