Scrap Wood Christmas Trees

Here’s a super-cheap project that you can customize to your liking. And depending on how you finish them, you could leave them up all winter. You can make them in all sizes, tall and lean, short and fat… make a whole little winter forest!

Grab a piece of scrap wood and cut to the height you would like your tree to be. On one end, mark the center of the board. Make diagonal cuts from that center to each of the other corners, as shown below.

Piece A becomes the main part of the tree. Place one B piece on either side of the A to create the tree. You will need to trim off the bottom fat portion of the B pieces so that they fit (approximated by the dotted lines).

I simply glued my pieces on and painted, then glued and nailed a 1×2 block on the bottom (I used a larger block for the larger trees).

Next I will share a scrap wood angel!
